They do carry a lot of books that might not have done well in general distribution, but they also carry books that they know will sell. Their vetting process of authors and publicists is quite intense, and nothing finds its way into Costco by accident. If they didn't think it would sell well, they wouldn't be carrying it.

I've looked at the VVAJM site, and the late Dave Hackworth's piece is pretty devastating. Most of the other stuff is obviously bullshit, but no more obvious than the stuff that sunk Kerry with a lot of people.
