2. It's not just firefighters who hate Giuliani. Cops don't like him either.

My husband is a retired NYPD cop, who was still on the job on 9/11 and worked at the site afterwards. He is also a Republican and hates Hillary Clinton. However, he has said on numerous occasions that he would vote for Hillary if it were a choice between her and Rudy. So deep is his distaste for Rudy ('n Judi!!!)

5. I believe that it is mostly salary contract related..

during his mayoralty IIRC the NYPD worked for quite awhile under an expired contract because of wage & benefit disputes. (Whether that's something actually to be blamed on Giuliani, I cannot say for certain.) The retired cops also had $$ issues with him re their benefits. Same with Bloomberg.
