Assad. Wonder which major News Organization will have the integrity to expose this angle?
Within days of the first Anthrax mailing, and before anyone had showed any signs of illness, the FBI receive an anonymous tip.
The tip tried to pin responsibility on Ayaad Assad and provided such personal information about Assad that it had to have come from a co-worker at Ft Detrick.
So, within days of the attack, and really prior to recognizing the Anthrax letters as an attack, the FBI had been given a false lead. And yet:
1. Administration officials tried to blame Iraq first and the Media went along with it. 2. When the Ft Detrick angle could not be avoided, the FBI tried to pin the Anthrax attack on one lone-wolf, Hatfill...and the Media went along with it. 3. The Media now knows that the Administration was WRONG about the Iraq connection and WRONG about the Hatfill connection, but would have us accept the Ivins angle based on the audio recording from a drug-therapist looking for a protective order.
No discussion of Assad, the Camel Club within Ft Detrick that harrassed Assad, or even whether Ivin's might have been a member of the Camel Club. Were there other Camel Club members?
How the Media can mention the 'Ivins' lone-wolf theory without also mentioning Hatfill within the same breath and Assad within the same context, I do not know. Journalism, it ain't.
You would think that Media would have reason to re-consider the credibility of Bush Admin/FBI/DOJ sources when it comes to this case after all the twists and turns that the investigation has taken. Usually three strikes is enough: First Iraq, then Assad, then Hatfill. But the Ivin's suicide wraps things up nicely for big money Media outlets and they can return to covering the newest missing blonde story or live coverage of a smokestack which had a girl trapped in it, yesterday. In depth.
