I saw a story on the CBS network news tonight. About this group.

One mile run for every person killed in Iraq. A marker left at each mile. Parents and spouses and children, grieving and celebrating the life of their loved ones, often travel to the place where their kin's marker is posted.

My son and daughter-in-law moved about five hours away. They left this past Friday. I miss them.

And then I saw this story on teevee.

And I cried.

I cried because I am lucky to have all my kids.

I cried for those who don't.

And I screamed and cursed.

This is my first post. I am not a Republican or Democrat, I am a true Independant.

I don't understand all the hate. Sure you don't like the current administration but whomever replaces GW won't be perfect either. He's not running again. We all like to dream that the next President will be everything we've always wanted but it never turns out that way. They are all human with strong points and weak points.

I see good and not so good in both candidates running today. To be honest, neither floats my boat but by election day I'll weigh my choices and vote for whomever I think is better.

If my choice loses, so be it. That's the way this Republic works, he'll still be my President and I'll support him. If I don't like what he does I'll say so but I won't spew hate, just opinions...

then you haven't been paying attention. They are responsible for ruining our country, bankrupting it, and taking us to war under false pretenses, a war that has killed in excess of 1,000,000 people, and they may even be responsible for the most devastating false-flag operation in the history of the planet.

They deserve NO RESPECT.

Perhaps when you understand just exactly what these oil men have done to this country, to our Constitution, to our Military, to our Justice Department, to every single Department that is supposed to function as a safeguard for the American People,... perhaps then you will begin to understand the depth of our fury.

Yes, there IS a difference between the parties and the candidates.

No, a President Gore or President Kerry would NOT have gotten thousands upon thousands of people killed for NO reason whatsoever.

Yes, Barack Obama DOES have a plan for ending this outrageous, wasteful fiasco.

No, John McCain does NOT have any intention of changing course.

Illegally vetting people to work in the DOJ not based on qualifications but upon their political bent

Claiming "unitary executive" beliefs

Illegally spying on US citizens WITHIN THE US!

BTW, when will you be enlisting? The military needs many, many new recruits to replace those on their 5th tours. Please, by all means, step up to the plate and truly serve your country!

The OP did not say they "hated" Bush and Cheney. They are just upset at all the unecessary death and destruction their ambitions have caused.

There is evil in the world, and merely because one has been elected President does not mean that the person is not evil.

As between the two candidates now, one is evil - McCain - just look at the way his campaign is being conducted. What kind of person would offer nothing and falsely attack his opponent? And he intends to continue the evil policies of Bush and Cheney.

We have reached a point where we are not talking about just different opinions. Some people don't just have a "different opinion." Those are the ones who do things like start wars for no reason, and intend to continue them and see people getting killed. If there was a good reason for this war, Bush could have stated it and stuck by it. The reasons wouldn't be shifting as they have been.

The campaign strategies of Rove and his followers prove only one thing: they want to gain power for their own glory. That's how they'll use it.

And may their names be cursed for future generations.

The sad part about this is that these deaths are only a small part of the TOTAL death count of the war.

The confirmed kill rate of Iraqis is WELL OVER a million souls.

Just another legacy of man's inhumanity to his fellow man for no noble purpose.

Told an OP that I have recommended their post. It usually feels to me as though I would be asking for praise for doing so. To me it matters not who recommended a post (or the recommender's reasons for doing so), as long as a worthy post gets into the "greatest" list.
