Make no mistake---this ain't not pro-war mini-series. This is an in you face, war sucks series that makes you sick to your stomach when watching it. Tonight they touched on the indiscriminate firing at roadblocks on Iraqi citizens who had no clue about the meaning of warning shots. One scene showed a dead Iraqi child,a little girl,in the back seat of a car that did not stop at a road block. The interpreter asked the father why he didn't stop and all he could say was, "he was sorry".

One Marine said, the dude is telling us he's sorry after we killed his daughter.

If you think your angry about this bullshit illegal war, this series will make you a 100 times more angry.

It won't be too long before Michelle Malkin and her brand of ChickenHawk scumbags declare a protest against HBO.

1. I don't feel any urgent need to see the series
I opposed the war from the very start, and I am comfortable with myself for that.

2. There has already been push back on this series.

One of the writers for OP-FOR.com wrote a book about al-Nasaria. He stated that he liked the original episode, but on the second episode he felt that the show was inaccurate about the battle for al-Nasaria and a friendly fire incident with an LAR unit.

I wasn't in Iraq for the initial push in, but have done a couple deployment there. So far I think the show is fairly accurate, with the exception of how they portray the officers. They got the whole thing about the charms in MREs right. I'd be interested to know if the Lt in the series, Nathaniel Flick, is involved in the show.

3. Checking up on your comment.
I believe the author you're referring too has now revised his post:

My description of the fight on the 24th would have been much stronger if I had had the opportunity to speak with Evan during my research. He has added detail to my understanding of what happened that day. I want to let everyone know that what he saw fits with my understanding of the day’s events and what he heard about the results falls under the “fog of war.”

After our conversation, it is very clear to me that Evan has made every effort to make Generation Kill the most accurate portrayal produced to date. My confidence in Generation Kill has been restored.

Lt. Fick is not involved with the show. Technical advisers are Sargent's Eric Kocher and Rudy Reyes.

5. I missed that post update.
I think that HBO is doing a fair job showing what is it like in Iraq.

The only part I don't like is the way they portray the officers. Lt Fick seems to be the only officer they portray as competent. All the others are either incomptent or stupid. I think this comes as a result of not having an officer as an adviser on the show. I think it is just a little bit of the normal back and forth between officers and NCO, with no officers to respond.

4. Heh.
That's like the 4th or 5th scene so far where they've wasted civilians.
