"The Democrats are denying an up or down vote!"

We keep hearing this re: the August recess, and the Republicans are acting as though there is some tradition or right to have every issue come to the floor for an up or down vote. They're acting as though some principle has been violated.

But that isn't the case. I can remember over the 12 years that they Repubs were in charge, there were all kinds of votes that the Repub leadership blocked from getting a floor vote.

My question: Does anyone know if there is a list of those votes compiled somewhere? I would really love to see it. If it doesn't exist, can we add it to the research section of DU? Would anyone else like to help in the research?
