Yet another Oil War starts.....
...Black Sea, huh, and where exactly is the pipeline? When in the hell are we going to rid ourselves of our addiction to this viscous black goo?

Georgia 'under attack' as Russian tanks roll in

TBLISI, Georgia (CNN) -- Georgia's president said Friday that his country is under attack by Russian tanks and warplanes, and he accused Russia of targeting civilians as tensions over the breakaway Georgian region of South Ossetia appeared to boil over into full-blown conflict.

*snip*

Georgia, located on the Black Sea coast between Russia and Turkey, has been split by Russian-backed separatist movements in South Ossetia and another region, Abkhazia.

1. Oil war plus Cold War leftover equals potential Central Asia regional war
This is a real lose-lose for everyone involved. Georgia is NATO enlargement. McCain needs a campaign issue.

Pay attention this.

3. Or, take sides.
Why is nobody paying attention to this here? There's some interest over at DKos -- http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/8/8/92254/80148 -- but it's not even on the Most Recced page.

I guess it's too scary for most to want to look at right away . . .

5. Move work closer. Change jobs. Reinvent your life.
Above all else, get the hell out of the suburbs. If you have to drive 10 miles down a freeway to get to your grocery store, you are in the middle of being screwed for real.

We cannot sustain this level of consumption any more. Too many other heavily armed thugs want the same black goodness we do. They, too, are willing to kill for it.

As we make the choice to NOT change the way we do bid'ness here in the 'Murka, we seal our fate, beholden to a few multinational corporations, slaves one and all.
