Male Coach of Female Wrestling Team Accused Of Lewd Behavior
Everglades High School Coach Given Reassignment Away From Students

MIRAMAR, Fla. -- A Broward high school wrestling coach and school security guard has been given a reassignment away from students after a teen said the man molested her.

Alain Tomas Cupas was charged with one county of lewd and lascivious molestation after being accused by a 15-year-old female student of molesting her in one of the Everglades High School gyms last Friday.

The teen said that Cupas was escorting the girl to internal suspension from a portable classroom when he pulled her into a room off the gym. The female wrestling coach began kissing her and rubbing against her, according to police.

A noise outside of the room caused Cupas to stop, the teen told police. He then escorted the girl to the office telling her "this is between you and me," the teen said.

Cupas is out of jail on bond, according to police.

2. Sadly, this will be another case of the double-standard between men and women.
If it had been a female teacher, the media would have been painting her as mentally unstable and worthy of pity and sympathy.

In this case, because it's a man, he'll be painted as a vile pedophile worthy of life in prison.

4. Oh yeah? How about Mary Kay LeTourneau, the convicted pedophile in
Washington state? Who is now married to the young man?

This guy isn't accused of having an affair with the girl, by the way, but of assaulting her. I haven't heard of any female teachers accused of assaulting their male students. Have you?

5. Just use The Google.
But, for an example, look at this case:

7. Yeah, I know about that case. But Mary Kay LeTourneau went to prison
for several years.

And neither of the women assaulted the young men involved, unlike the present case where the guy is accused of physically attacking the girl.

10. Doesn't change the fact the women are painted by the M$M as worthy of sympathy
and men are treated as vile scum (even in cases where men don't assault the victim)

11. You're wrong about Mary Kay LeTourneau. There was a case here involving

a male teacher a year or two earlier that hardly caused a ripple among the media -- and the man got a much lighter sentence than LeTourneau. It seemed to me that, if anything, they were tougher on her because she was a woman and they wanted to make an example out of her.

The man's name was Mark Blilie and he was involved with a 14 year old female student. He was sentenced to three and a half years -- half of LeTourneau's sentence.

Both Blilie and LeTourneau ended up marrying the students.

13. I'm not talking about LeTourneau. I'm talking about in general in all of the cases.
I've not mentioned LeTourneau once.

15. You said "the women" right after I said "the women" in reference to
LeTourneau and the Florida woman.

And you can't show me any statistics to back up your assertion, because there are none.

8. We don't.
That's why there will be an investigation before the case is heard in court.

9. Because he was a teacher and protection of minors should take precedence.
No one has convicted him, they have just removed the potential threat from the students. And it makes a lot of sense to me.
