Stupid Republican Immigration Policy Demonstrates Need for a Democrat in the White House
The deportation of “Illegal immigrants” remains not only a policy goal, but one of the defining characteristics of today’s Republican Party. A story reported in Wednesday’s San Francisco Chronicle describes how that policy works in reality.

An immigrant from ‘Armenia’ fled to the U.S. in 1991 after “exposing corruption in the government office in which he worked”. His home was burned down and his store ransacked. (This would sound like political persecution to most of us).

But after applying for ‘legal’ status here in America, he was turned down by immigration officials who said he enjoyed “no well-founded fear of persecution” in his native land (!)

The deportation orders also affected the immigrants young son – a baby when his parents sought refuge here – now a 4.0 honor student and valedictorian at his high school graduation. Like so many other sons and daughters of “illegal” immigrants, this young man knows no other homeland than America.
