"From Pakistan and Afghanistan through Iran, the Middle East, and all the way to Morocco," Huwaidar wrote, "this entire part of the world defeated and dejected men, whose only way to gain some sort of victory is by beating their women to death."

It is appalling that such lethally barbaric attitudes persist anywhere - all the more so now that the shame of honor killing has made its way here.

3. It seems to go hand in hand with polygamy.

Whenever women are reduced to the value of a cow or other object, violence and hatred against them increases. When in your own family, a woman is forced to be a submissive doormat and can be ignored, set aside and replaced by a younger wife once the bloom of youth has faded, in the larger society they are also treated like doormats. Religion seems to be particularly fond of degrading women.

Even when the men are rich, the wives are still treated like objects or animals. It is not just the males who are defeated and dejected that beat and abuse their wives when polygamy rears its ugly head.

4. Is it safe for me to assume that you know the difference between polygamy and polyamory?

If not, let me educate you. Those of us who have chosen (notice that word and check my profile. I am a woman) that different relating style that has nothing to do with religion are generally happy self definers. We changed the word because the word polygamy has been tainted. Within polyamory you will find people with all sorts of unusual household configurations and neither the women nor the men are treated as second class citizens.
