Here's a question for T. Boone Pickens...
he's obviously making the rounds of talk shows, just saw him on CNN.

Until today, I'd never heard anyone ask him about financing the Swift Boat Veterans lies and smears. Blitzer questioned his "plan" being bi-partisan and said "I know in the past you supported Bush over Kerry with the swift boat"....What was T Boone's response???

"that was so long ago, I don't even remember it"....
WTF? some of us can NOT forget it!

Then he got this holier than thou attitude, how his "plan" is better than either of the candidates, blah, blah, blah....

Here's my question I'd love to ask him:

"don't you think it would have been a better use of your money to either NOT finance the swiftboat smears, or get behind Kerry? You are largely responsible for installing 2 oil men in the WH for their second term, NOW you want credit for coming up with a plan to solve the HUGE mess YOU financed?"

hey, he has a web site, maybe I'll visit it today!

1. It would be nice to be able to forget where I spent a quarter mil.
But maybe that's just me.

T Boone is a snake and it would be amusing to watch people fawning over him if it wasn't so sick and the issue so serious.

6. A quarter mill? HA!
Make that TWO MILLION DOLLARS.

Here's a fun question for old Boone:

"Do you plan to drain the Oglalla Aquifer in order to power/fund your wind farms?"

16. Oh, yes. I know
I live near Amarillo. Folks around here know all about that old bastard and we're doing our best to fight him.

The Olgalla Aquifer covers eight states and he wants to drink that milkshake.

20. The family farm was in Sudan.
It was sold rather put another 1200 ft. on the well head. That was 10 years ago, we weren't dry unless we were irrigating. The Oglalla has been hurting for awhile.

8. at LEAST an apology!
I get angry each time I see him or his commercials on TV.

His Slanderous Lies cost each and every one of us--now he's trying to be a hero with his "plan"...

9. He's a snake oil salesman who doesn't give a shit about this country...
...but is wanting to cash in on subsidies. That said, I'd rather pay subsidies to corrupt producers of wind energy than to corrupt producers of oil.

11. yep, agreed...
as much as I hate to see his commercials, I am torn because I believe in wind energy...I just don't want him to benefit from it!

13. Think of it this way - if other corrupt oil producers see that...
...this guy is making money, they'll jump on the bandwagon and abandon offshore drilling (which represents a tiny fraction of what they'd make with wind). In the end, WE WIN ~ and so do our kids!

Edited on Sun Aug-10-08 11:20 AM by arthritisR_US
his new energy company will reap the rewards. So in effect you people will pay for his company and then have to pay him to use the electricity, JMO.

10. Ed Schultz has been drinking Pickens' Kool-Ade!
But Ed has his private plane, boat, ATV, and pick-up truck to keep fueled. Oh, I'm being unfair, Ed DOES own a Gem car! (Funny he even has time to drive it?)

19. Prop 10 in California...age hasn't withered Pickens' greed one little iota I see.
All you have to do is read through it, and you'll see a laundry list of cash grabs — stuff like $200 million for a liquefied natural gas terminal, and $2.5 billion for rebates of up to $50,000 for each natural gas vehicle. All this measure's billions does is benefit Pickens' company to the exclusion of almost all other clean-vehicle fuels and technology.

He makes good commercials, and gets people all worked up; but this scheme of his isn’t going to do anything at all to reduce our dependence on oil imports. It’s really just a scam meant to pull tax subsidies out of the government.

Nothing like a little taxpayer assistance to help get your monopoly on, right?
