Russia warns of military response if US-Czech missile defense agreement ratified

Published: July 8, 2008

MOSCOW: Russia's will be forced to make a military response if the U.S.-Czech missile defense agreement is ratified, the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.

The statement came hours after U.S. and Czech officials reached an initial agreement on deploying elements of a missile defense system in the Eastern European country.

Russia says the system would severely undermine European security balances by weakening Russia's missile capacity.

If the agreement is ratified, "we will be forced to react not with diplomatic, but with military-technical methods," the Foreign Ministry statement said. It did not give specifics of what the response would entail.

8. Well, George W. Bullshit did call him Pooty.
Pooty Poot Poot. Old GW's friend. He looked him in the eye and knew he was a good man. The problem is that Bullshit is 'Stupid Evil'.
He's so stupid he doesn't know he is evil. :dem:

4. This is not a Cold War. Cold War is when no one is shooting
This is a Hot War and I would not want to be living in the Czech Republic or Poland right now either.

7. They are full members of NATO, invasion of either is World War III.

World War III would rapidly spread to the United States. Life itself would be precarious for the entire planet. Since Georgia is not a full member there is room to let them be run over. Poland and the Czech Republic is at a very different level.

5. Expansion of NATO, Missle Defense, Invasion of Iraq twice
We kind of spiked the ball a little too hard after the cold war. Russia now has money from oil and is going to be spending it.

On good news the GOP has their preferred enemy back and Putin has an excuse to further his crack down on his own peoples freedoms. Looks like its a win win for facism.
