The Poor Go to War, & the Rich Get Tax Cuts: Bush’s Idea of Shared Sacrifice - Bush History, 8/11
Bush claims to "understand how tough it is, ... I talk to families who die". Yet, while the middle class and poor send their kids to die in Bush's very expensive war, the president gives the rich tax cuts. In WWII the rich did their part and paid rates up to 90%, but today, despite his huge deficit, Bush asks not for a sacrifice but rather a tax break for his well-off friends. Disgusting.
