Iraq demands US withdrawal timeline - anyone remember Iraq?
Edited on Mon Aug-11-08 07:48 AM by spanone
'crickets' in the U.S. media.....

The US must provide a "clear timeline" to withdraw its troops from Iraq as part of an agreement allowing them to operate in Iraq beyond this year, Hoshiyar Zebari, Iraq's foreign minister, has said.

His comments on Sunday are the strongest public assertion yet that Iraq is demanding a timeline for US withdrawal.

The Reuters news agency quoted Zebari saying an agreement, including the timeline, was "very close" and would probably be presented to the Iraqi parliament in early September.

1. But will bushco do it
I don't hold out much hope for it happening before the new year but will the new administration do it? Maybe

I did read this in my morning paper though. http://www.tulsaworld.com/news/article.aspx?articleID=20080811_13_A6_spancl721505

2. Not leaving
Bush will never agreer to time line.He will ignore and tell the Iraqis WE will determine when it is time for us to leave if we are.
No matter who wins the elections we will not leave Iraq.Israel does not want that, and we have no intention of ever leaving anyway.
We will leave when we are forced out, like Viet Nam.
It might take the Iraqis a few years to do it, but they will.
It took the Afghans 10 years to drive the invading occupier Russia out of their Land.
