Russia is not Germany after WWI
If anything Russia is Russia after WWI. They lost territory and world stature after they pulled out of the war during their own civil war. Their government collapsed and it took a while for the new one to take shape and gain control over the country. After the Communist established control of the country they began expanding again under Stalin. I'm sick of all these comparisons of Russia to post Versaille Germany. Russia was never defeated militarily. Russia never surrendered and agreed to disarm. Russia became weak during a transition of government types and now thanks to the demand for naturual gas and oil has the ability to flex its muscles again.

October Revolution, a civil war broke out between the new regime and the Socialist Revolutionaries, Mensheviks, and the White movement. The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk concluded hostilities with the Central Powers in World War I. Russia lost its Ukrainian, Polish and Baltic territories, and Finland by signing the treaty.
