Good News du Jour.

Difficult to find many positive threads here so thought if you have something good to say about Wednesday, August 13, 2008, please feel free to post it here. Don't pay attention to the 13, it's not a Friday.

It's still early on both coasts so surely something good will happen to you today and/or the U.S.

2. Something positive - for me at least -

it's 11 in the a.m. and it's NOT raining in Dublin . . . . yet! And I just listened to a re-broadcast of Thom Hartmann on the internets - always informative.

4. I am going hiking with Congressmember Adam Schiff later on today.

I gotta come up with a good joke. He expects it from me. He is one of our great leaders. And he thinks I'm a pretty good local leader too. Silly congressmember.:shrug:

He's the only politician that ever climbed the three flights of stairs to my apartment to ask for my vote.

He lost that election.

I'm in Denmark, where they start broadcasting the Olympics at 4:30 a.m., so I keep missing the morning activities (I think gymnastics was scheduled for 5:30 a.m.)--but I heard he'd won his 11th medal and saw the replay of one of the images of his win. Just incredible!!

And I read on a blog that someone was saying it was like he'd learned to swim in the future and was coming back in time to show off his skills--another, that he came from another planet! That may not be "good news," but it sure made me chuckle, which is good enough.

13. The meteor shower happened early this morning

the one that happens every August. And today my husband and his friend go to get materials to start working on the repair of our house--that is very good news to us!
