But which Zalmay M Khalilzad do you mean? It's such a common name. You won't let me use Wikipedia, so I'll have to make a guess.
Is it the Zalmay M Khalilzad who was a consultant to Union Oil of California (aka Unocal) when it was negotiating with the Taleban to build a trans-Afghan pipeline? Of course, that was back in the days when the Taleban were the "best hope of peace and prosperity in the region" (translation: the best hope of getting the pipeline built and of stopping the other barbaric warlords from blowing it up by wiping out the other warlords).
Or is it the Zalmay M Khalilzad who was one of the founding members of the Project for a New American Century? An ultra-right wing think tank that wanted the US to go around the world stealing its resources (primarily oil, and starting with Iraq) under the guise of acting as the world's policeman to enforce a Pax Americana (cf Pax Romana which was how the Romans justified an empire of thuggery and exploitation)?
How about the Zalmay M Khalilzad whom Dubya appointed special envoy to Afghanistan after the US invaded it, and was instrumental in getting the trans-Afghan pipeling project restarted and back in Unocal's hands?
Or could it be the Zalmay M Khalilzad whom Dubya appointed special envoy to Iraq after the US invaded it?
Decisions, decisions. Whichever one of the above it is, sounds like ambassador to the UN is the closest fit.
WTF, this bastard is now ambassador to the UN? That must mean that the UN has oil and we're going to invade it. Because there's no other reason Dubya brings Zalmay M Khalilzad into play.
