China doesn't deserve the olympics
Edited on Wed Aug-13-08 08:39 PM by lynyrd_skynyrd
They're controlling the media after they said they wouldn't.

They haven't done a thing about their human rights violations after they said they would.

They didn't do anything about their pollution problem after they said they would.

The protests are being censored while they detain the protesters. They digitally altered the opening ceremony to make it look more spectacular than it actually was.

And to top it all off?

They deemed a little girl "not cute enough" and replaced her with a lip syncher

And they admit it! And are proud of it!

Are you all understanding this yet?

CUTE

NOT CUTE

The IOC ought to be ashamed of itself for allowing this totalitarian regime to host the olympics.

2. Eastern vs Western sensibilities.
Big difference.

They are going to do it their way.

3. It's China.
Anyone expecting more of them is irrational. Nothing against the people of China, but their government is the epitome of shit.

4. Fuck the Olympics
they have become the political mine field, corporate driven, greed seeking event that they said they would never become. They are worthless now, it's all a bunch of bullshit.

5. I didn't like the People's Liberation Army touching the Olympic flag.

I'm surprised they didn't leave bloody fingerprints on it when they carried it to the flagpole.

6. I normally can enjoy the Olympics.
However, I'm so disgusted that they are in China. Then every minute, they are doing something from switching kids singers to roughing up a camera crew.
Screw them. And screw the IOC. China could probably throw an athlete from another country into jail, and they wouldn't do anything about it. China hasn't done a damn thing that the IOC wanted. Democracy has bent to them. I keep hoping somebody will protest somehow. They practically had those US cyclists drawn and quartered for wearing those pollution masks. NBC is just going along.
Eff them!!
