Russia to U.S.: Choose us or Georgia
(Holy shit!)

Russia pressed the United States on Wednesday to choose between "a real partnership" with Moscow or an "illusory" relationship with U.S. ally Georgia. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said the United States is standing by Georgia.

Washington said it's sticking with Georgia.

"As to choosing, the United States has made very clear that it is standing by the democratically elected government of Georgia," Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Wednesday.

:scared:

7. You know, we'd been saying something about this
(an occurrence that would result in martial law/suspended election) - for ages. And I didn't even think of it in connection with this.

I think being given an ultimatum by Russia is pretty daunting. They're not scrabbling for breath like they were a few years back -- they've got real power. And oil. Same thing.

But seriously, I'm more tempted to back Georgia-- seeing Putin go unchecked scares me.
