Is it just me...
Edited on Thu Aug-14-08 12:24 AM by adsosletter
or does Condi seem freaked-out in yesterday's statement outside the White House...voice sounds trembly, and she doesn't seem to be breathing well; kind like when someone is having an anxiety attack...

EDIT: sorry, haven't figured out the "embed thing" yet. Here is the link; I would be interested to see how you all read her demeanor:

1. Well, she's about to get another notch on her "legacy"
She was the National Security Chief for 9/11. Perhaps she can preside over the start of WWIII.

Lord Jesus, what a resume.

11. Yep...her response radiates "getting caught with her pants down"...
...metaphorically, of course.

2. She's incompetent and it has finally caught up with her.
She'd MUCH rather be shopping for shoes these days.....

10. That may, indeed, be a significant part of it.
Self-delusion and denial can only carry one so far.

4. I Have NEVER heard her sound confident. She always sounds trembly and unsure
and looks like she needs to grab the paper bag and start breathing into it.

8. I really noticed it this time ...and needing to grab the paper bag seems about right...
almost like "Shit! We didn't actually expect them to try this!!!"

13. I've thought the same thing about her for a while now...
She's nervous and unsure of herself. That's how it seems to me, too.

16. Secretary Albright seemed very confident and grounded...
as if she actually had internal, moral strength, and the ability to think clearly and calmly on her feet.

20. Yes...and with a certain classy humility that can only be drawn from real inner strength...
not exterior bluster and posturing...

23. Yep, Condi's voice always sounds trembly.
Her voice has the worst quavery, unsure quality about it. She always sounds like she's on the verge of bursting into tears. Drives me crazy.

5. It bothered me the way she kept saying with that trembly voice "Oh, Rob".
I think a neocon plan may not have gone as well as the others had.

22. Your Dick Van Dyke reference is noted... but most of the crowd here is too young.
However, Condi as Laura Petrie with * as Rob is just too, too funny. Far less tragic than the past eight years, but still funny in comparison.

7. IIRC, Richard Holbrooke 'suggested' she make the trip. They
took his advice; she's only the SoS, with vast knowledge about Russia. :eyes:

Very mind-boggling.

9. Her apparent real nervousness...
which reads to me as borderline panic attack really freaks me out... I wonder how she presents in her one-on-ones with foreign leaders, especially in very serious situations?

12. Why is Iraq safer than Georgia? Because every time
she opens her mouth at this point, people laugh? She's been horrible as an extention to this admin. I'm even shocked.
She's been to Iraq a few times; seriously, why would she think that's safer? She's her own lame duck.

14. I sense that too. It is not only Condi that seems to be freaked out. It is all of the administration
They did not expect the response that they got from Russians. A new era has begun and unfortunately we are not on the top and powerful. But we will bounce back once Barack is in the WH.

17. Ok this may be another 13 days kind of a situation
I am not kidding... this is your three in the morning moment... and they have no clue how to react to this

Real crisis with a power that just happens to have a few nukes... and the capacity to project them. That is a little sense of reality these idiots are getting... they may have very well screwed the pooch royally and now they know it

19. One of the messages I read from it is...
that they are forced to take a stand with no real idea how to make it happen; as you said: "this is your three in the morning moment... and they have no clue how to react to this."

I don't expect this to go any further than it has, militarily, but I think her demeanor signals just how hollow she knows her words are.

:hi:

21. I hope, these are checker players, and the Riskies are playing Chess
this is CHECK on the board

And they haven't gotten it yet

Her words and we flying their combat troops back on our air lift C-5s made us active combatants....

That was the first... are you idiots that nuts?
