Congrats for you and your Dad, DT
:D

I'm happy for you that your Dad is still around, and again condolences on your Mom's passing.

My Dad was born in 1920 also, but alas he died in 1995.

2. happy birthday to him
He's one month and two days older than my grandmother, whose still hanging in there, thank God.

My own father died at age 57 in 2003. Please consider yourself lucky.

9. Today would have been my dad's birthday, too.
He was born in 1914, so would have been, what, 94 now. Sadly, he left us in 1994, but I remember him every August 14. A wonderful man who taught me how to be a good Democrat.

My Dad was born 8/28/1920...just two weeks after yours. Unfortunately, he died in 1989 and I still miss him daily! Enjoy every day with your Dad. :)

13. Happy birthday! My mom was born in that year, she is still going strong
Here is a photo of my mother, taken when she was just 7 years old (she was born in Oct. 1920).

<>

You can barely see her in the passenger seat of this green 1927 car (Chevrolet, I think). Her father is standing with the white shirt and tie. A mechanic is filling the front tire with air.
They were on a trip to West Virginia, from SW Virginia.

It would be nice to colorize this old photo someday.

My mom could handle 80 lb. bags of chicken feed in her younger days on the farm in Virginia. The years are starting to take a toll on her, but she keeps going on as best as she can.

Dad passed away almost 25 years ago.

It's nice to keep the old photos which we can treasure for ourselves and others as we get older, too.
