I'm decided I'm voting republican.
I am going to vote republican.

I'm voting republican because I believe the government is doing a great job of spending the money my grandkids - who won't even be born for some years to come - haven't even earned yet.

I'm voting republican because I believe freedom of speech should include lying through your teeth to put our country at war and kill 4141 of our troops and counting. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of dead civilians, but they were all Iraqi anyway, right? How could that possibly be considered offensive?

I'm voting republican because I want to leave our troops in Iraq for a hundred years, and our defenses thus weakened, while the bad guys re-group and plot in some other part of the world.

I'm voting republican because I have a right to wanton consumption without responsibility towards protecting our environment.

I'm voting republican because women are merely baby factories and have no say in their reproductive process. I know this because god told me.

I'm voting republican because working-class Americans have a solemn duty to work hard and ensure a hefty corporate profit at minimal compensation. Said corporations likewise have no responsibility to contribute to the national treasury, and are encouraged to outsource jobs as the workers in foreign sweatshops are far more compliant to their masters and even cheaper. Those Americans who lose their jobs in such a manner shall then be considered lazy, unproductive welfare rats.

I'm voting republican because I agree with George Bush that the Constitution is "just a goddamned piece of paper."

I'm voting republican because if we leave Iraq and re-deploy our troops in a more responsible and stronger defensive position, there will be terrorists hiding around every corner and behind every street lamp across America with weapons of mass destruction. Trust the republicans on this.

I'm voting republican because being gay is just WRONG! I know so because god told me!

I'm voting republican because big oil companies are our friends who really, truly feel our pain, and are being treated poorly by all these working-class American ingrates. Imagine being asked to use some of those tens of billions of quarterly profit dollars for alternative energy research and help us become less dependent on imported oil.

I'm voting republican because basic medical and dental care are profitable commodities and should be available only to those who can afford them. If you can't afford them and seek them out anyway, you deserve to go bankrupt.

I'm voting republican because conserving energy and using less, and investing in alternative energy, aren't nearly as American as the destruction of the few remaining fragile ecosystems. We can just take pictures of them for posterity, then drill the hell out of 'em.

I'm voting republican because war, greed, gluttonous consumption, and irresponsibility are all just too cool to give up. They are the American way!

2. Your sarcasm is lost on Republicans
They would read your post, agree with everything, and say "right on!"

That's the whole problem.

4. Now that you mention it, I think I'll consider voting republican too.
I'd take great pleasure in voting for senile,or almost senile old geezers (older than me) who can hardly think anymore. Men whose most productive years are behind them. Men who probably wake in the morning and take pills for every ache and pain known to mankind. (Not to single out women, they could fall into this category too, sometime in the future)

Or, another consideration, individuals whose IQ is so low, they don't even know how to read without a prompter, what if there was a power failure, just wing it? Push the wrong button and blow the world to smithereens.

I get my jollies out of those who joke about bombing other countries, who feel it is their duty to stick the US nose in everyone else's business for their own gain.

I really enjoy listening to those who insist that my personal moral and ethical beliefs are their business, who would monitor my every move if they can.
I can picture some high paid chair sitter watching my brush strokes as I paint the outside of my house. Will he joke at my lack of expertise? I am old now and alone. I will have to learn to do a lot myself now that my husband is gone. The thought of someone like me being monitored here on DU, on my phone or anywhere is a joke.

Sure, I'll vote republican, when hell freezes over.

7. I'm voting Republican because I'm a born-again Christianoid . . .
who believes the End Times are approaching and I want to hasten them along with unending war and untreated pestilence so I can be raptured up to Heaven where there won't be any diversity or taxes. (I'm praying that there will be assault weapons up there, though.)

8. Saw a bumper sticker the other day
"No terrorist attacks in the US since 9-11
Mission Accomplished
Thank You President Bush."

This is what we're up against. These people are insane.

BTW -- our cable company had an online poll asking people what they were going to watch in the summer Olympics. Twenty-one percent of the people said "figure skating." (in the summer Olympics.) George Bush's approval rating is 21 percent. Do the math.

13. I think that I will vote republican too because Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell and nearly every other
nut job who thinks the ONLY ISSUES that are up for grabs is abortion and homosexuality are the only things that we need to worry about and NOTHING ELSE MATTERS!!!!!! No sir, not one single issue MATTERS TO ME AND WHY DON'T THE REST OF YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?? I
don't care about the Constitution, global warming isn't even real for heaven's sake, I don't care that the troops are committing suicide at an astounding rate and the generals in charge are letting them go ahead and bleed. I don't want to hear about it that "stop-loss" is so utterly critical to the sanity of the troops that a movie was made about it because the media won't report on it and what about those media by the way! Aren't they just GEMS??? I can't think of why anyone in their right mind would ever want to actually know the TRUTH about 9-11 and the fact that Dick Cheney and his WIFE were in control of NORAD for the first time in history on that day and the only aircraft in flight over the United States of America on that day were carrying Osama Bin Laden's family OUT of this country and to safety but no other aircraft in the entire USA was allowed to fly except our #1 suspected enemy's family. Who cares about that when I have a find president and vice president and dick cheney and donald rumsfelt and john ashcroft and all of those other "fine, important men" protecting me. Who cares that dick cheney actually gave the orders to KILL SEVERAL THOUSAND AMERICANS IN THE WORLD TRADE CENTER AND BLAME IT ON OSAMA? I don't want to hear about that and I don't care because Pat Robertson told me to ignore it and damn it I am going to ignore it! I don't care that Pat has his own personal conflict diamond mine and has been caught by the Virginia legislature spending money from his ministry for years. That is his own personal business and not mine!

I am going to vote republican because I have given up the desire to think for myself and I intend to let the republican party and the white house do it for me because I love being stupid and uninformed and the only news I care about is on the "700 Club" everyday and that is enough for me. Yessir!! I don't care that W is a falling down crude and abusive lying son of a bitch drunk and that all of those soldiers had to die for his own personal pleasure and for no other reason than oil. I don't care that dick cheney was heard saying "Nobody is coming home until I GET MY OIL!"

I am definitely voting republican and you can't stop me because you are not the boss of me, Pat Robertson is.

11. my sister saw the ad along these lines and didn't get it at all
She lives in So Carolina now and thought it made no sense - and she's not a dumb girl. Finally, she asked if I was trying to saying that they've just been "pulling the wool over everybody's eyes?" I said "well not everybody's anymore". I'm always shocked when I hear a bright woman ask questions like this. How can you get the point across without telling them they're complete idiots? And now she seems to think that there's a big difference between Bush and McCain. She listens to O Reilly. Its hard to believe we're related sometimes.
