What has happened to US Olympic Boxing?????
I grew up with the '76 team. The Spinks brothers, Leo Randolph, Sugar Ray and my favorite of all time- the great Howard Davis. Now, we're nothing. Damn, it was the premier event. I'm getting fucking old!!!!

4. olympic boxing hasn't ever really recovered from the Roy Jones Jr. scandal in Seoul
not the U.S. team, just the event in general. I've watched a bit of it at this Olympics, but it has been overwhelmingly interesting.

6. I go all the way back to Cassius Clay ! I used to enjoy Olympic Boxing
but we are not likely to see much of it unless we have medal contenders . right now they are going through the elimination rounds, which takes forever because boxing is one of the sports for which even a small nation can field contenders

I hate the violence myself, but the Olympics were much more technical. A great fighter like Howard Davis did it by points. He didn't need the KO.
