ABC Making a Big Deal About Jennifer Lopez Training for Triathlon 6 months After Having Twins

I am at least a little upset that ABC Good Morning America is making a big deal about Jennifer Lopez training for a Triathlon six months after having twins. What upsets me is that they are making out like it is such a great feat that Lopez is doing this only six months after having her children. I will admit that I have never had children, so I do not know what it is like to have one child let alone two at the same time. However, I do know a number of women who have had children and they were doing numerous things six months after having the children. As far as I know many women are up and about and back to work is less then six months. In addition, I think the either the Army or the Navy, at one point tried to deploy a woman six weeks after she had given birth. The story made headlines because the husband was also being deployed, so their was a question of who would take care of the child. The military's response was have another family member take care of the child. I think the couple was being deployed during peacetime.

It just seems crazy that ABC would make such a big deal of Lopez doing this six months after giving birth. I am not trying to be mean, but it is six months. Other women have done just as much or more in that same time period. What really upsets me is the fact that it seems the media acts like no one else has done what a celebrity has done.

Jennifer Lopez has someone taking care of her twins. When my twins where 6 months old and my older son had just turned 2 yrs my husband and I picked up and moved from NY to Maine. We knew no one here and had no help. It is incredibly hard to care for two infants and a toddler. I could not have trained for a Triathalon if I had wanted to.
