Row escalates over U.S. media bias
The South Ossetian family of a 12 year old American girl have renewed their attack on the U.S. TV network which stopped them from telling their story of Georgian aggression on air. The live interview, which has whipped up a storm over media bias, saw the girl and her aunt describe how Russian soldiers saved them from Georgian attack – only to be bizarrely cut off after just two minutes.

It’s led to concerns over the objectivity of coverage of the crisis, with claims that Americans are not hearing both sides of the story.

And the family of 12 year old Amanda Kokoeva, who was visiting her relatives in South Ossetia, are determined that more people hear their account.

Amanda’s other aunt, who was with her when the war broke out, says that America’s media is shutting off its ears, refusing to acknowledge what she describes as Georgia trying to ‘annihilate as a people’.

Georgia denies any accusation of genocide. Instead it claims its military campaign was aimed at establishing order over a breakaway region.

This war of words means nothing to Amanda’s cousin Yana.

"We were hiding in our basement until our family decided to risk it and drive to North Ossetia,” she recalls. “Our car came under fire and the tyres were blown out, so we had to walk to Russia. Amanda and I were very frightened."

After crossing the Russian border, Amanda’s family took refuge at their grandma’s cousin’s place in the North Ossetian capital, Vladikavkaz.

"If you were in South Ossetia last week and were bombed by the Georgians, I'm sure you wouldn't want to remain part of Georgia," said Tamara Kokoeva, Amanda's grandmother

geographical area with other governments involved. Same pursuit and cause for lies, death, destruction, torture, torment, maiming, physical and mental problems for decades, shortened lives, massive debt, a sick earth, and depression. And a media that enables liars who have caused all of this.

2. So says "Russia Today"
Not exactly an unbiased source for this story. Is there any independent confirmation of these allegations from a reputable third party?

6. I said both reputable and third party
The BBC, Reuters Europe, maybe something from the Japanese press. Heck, I'd settle for the Christian Science Monitor.

by (fill-in-the-blank-country) soldiers, they'd be promoting her more than Jerome Corsi ...

4. The Lazy Corporate Media
First...note how the article cites a "U.S. television network"...not mentioning which one...which is Faux. This blight of electrons has not just polluted American society with their lies and propaganda but now is seen around the world as many in this country viewed Pravda or Al Jezeerah.

The backstory here that should be noted is that Faux either was lazy or used in how this story came about. Someone didn't "vet" the guests or Shep...they thought they had some Georgian "victims" but got scammed by their own laziness. Their rush to put a spin to their narrative and find someone/anyone who would play into their game got them burned...and to what affect?

Sadly, Faux will dance on, as do the other American networks, with little penalty for their abuses. They can lie or get things wrong...give voice to the most boneheaded "pundits" whose only credentials are thier beltway connections with little fear of having to be held accountable for their moral and intellectual laziness.
