Roseanne Attacks Brad And Angelina, Slams McCain And Maureen Dowd
Huffington Post | August 18, 2008 12:45 PM

Roseanne has taken up blogging on her website in a big way, and is voicing her contempt on all sorts of issues multiple times a day, from Hollywood celebrities to the candidates to Maureen Dowd.

In a post entitled "Jon Voight," Roseanne lashes out at Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, and Jolie's supposed comments on being a still-undecided voter. After calling Voight a "used tampon" she writes:

jon voight your evil spawn angelina jolie and her vacuous hubby brad pitt make about forty million dollars a year in violent psychopathic movies and give away three of it to starving children trying to look as if they give a crap about humanity as they spit out more dunces that will consume more than their fair share and wreck the earth even more. (just sayin').
Also miss jolie says she likes mccain too and hasn't decided who to endorse....huh? Aren't you supposed to be somewhat enlightened, or do you not know that the african daughter you hold in every picture had parents who suffered and died because of the republican party's worldwide economic assault on africa over the last few decades since reagan? whaaaa...??????!!!!

1. Ah, Roseanne
Telling it like it is . . . for her.

Plus, she did have some valid points.

3. Somebody had to say it, I guess:
"Aren't you supposed to be somewhat enlightened, or do you not know that the african daughter you hold in every picture had parents who suffered and died because of the republican party's worldwide economic assault on africa over the last few decades since reagan? whaaaa...??????!!!!"

And yeah, if Brangelina still can't make up their minds between senile, unstable McCain, and the all-around best presidential candidate since Bill Clinton, then they are indeed a pair of vacuous shits.

6. Well, Bob Geldolf and Bono have been pretty supportive of Bush's approach to Africa

To be honest, I'd take them at their word more than a two bit hustler of time-share vacation spots that Rosanne has become.

7. Those two are naive idealists - they'll latch onto anything that sounds good, regardless
of the real-world outcome. Never consult a rock star on foreign policy, is what I say... :P

Not that Roseanne is some brilliant theorist, or anything - I just like to see overhyped celebrities (e.g. Brangelina) get knocked down a peg.

5. Can't decide if this reflects worse on Roseanne or on Huffpost.
I mean, I don't read HP, but they sure seem to hover somewhere between the National Enquirer and Drudge most of the time I see them cited here.

8. I think they try to strike a balance between "fluff" and serious news.
Gets them more readers, I guess.

11. this really bothers me for some reason. Consider>
These two people are entitled to keep their own counsel on who they vote for no matter who they are. I am sure Angelina is going to vote for Obama. Who says she has to tell everyone that?

She gives ONE THIRD of her huge income to causes and charity. She gives all her free time and her expertise to help people, especially refugees. Brad Pitt has done more good in New Orleans than the federal government with his efforts to build good housing for the people there. They both do all this with a huge family of tiny children. it pains me TREMENDOUSLY to see the wrong people get stuck in the butt like this. Rosanne is full of shit to do this. Jolie is entitled to NOT SAY WHO SHE WILL VOTE FOR AND TO CHOOSE OR NOT TO ENDORSE.

She found out underaged children being held to be deported in JAILS were not allowed counsel for their rights. She PAID HER OWN MONEY to make sure they do. She goes to shit holes and finds out what can be done and then works to make it happen. She puts her money where her mouth is and does it whole heartedly. She works on the World Economic Council to help solve problems in the world for people with no voice.

THIS: Jolie, who is co-chair of The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, founded by the Clinton Global Initiative to educate one million children impacted by war and conflict, spoke Tuesday at the Council on Foreign Relations. (This is on the net. You need to know what you are advocating before you throw stones. She could be just another 'actor' but she isn't and neither is him. They don't deserve this. And on top of it all, they are dedicated and loving parents. Amazing.)

There are plenty of people to kick around out there but not this one. I am tired of seeing this one slapped. She is one of the few among us who actually does what she believes. Go, girl. You do good work.

She is a United Nations Ambassador for Refugees and goes wherever she can to help them.

12. Well said, and thank you.
You speak for a lot of us who aren't jumping onto the dogpile du jour.

Hatred is *not* a progressive value, even though some people act as though it is.

14. Thumbs up
It's funny that people here seem so willing to jump on celebrities who do actually try to help by saying "Well, they could give more!"

13. Thanks
but I don't give two shits for Barr's opinion on anything. Nor do I care who endorses what candidate for that matter.
