Revolutionary Electromagnetic automobile
Someone last week posted information that this vehicle will be revealed today. I tried to find the post to "kick" it but cannot find it. Sorry if I stole someones thunder on this.

At any rate, according to their web site it should be revealed about 10 minutes from now.

19. Did you not see this page

THE EVT-3

Our first goal was to create a super light, but safe vehicle. We started by having a carbon composite chassis built and then we finished up by having the body panels built with large amounts of aluminum and more carbon composites. Our efforts have paid off as the EVT-3 has a curb weight of just 1964 pounds.

We then turned our attention to designing the most efficient AC motor that we possibly could. The motor came out better than we could have ever dreamt. It weighs in at 98 pounds, generates 195 HP, and best of all, has a top efficiency of 99 percent. What are we saying? We have a light, but powerful motor, and it delivers top performance.

Now on to the hard part: The battery. We spared no expense in creating our battery pack, it is one of the most important components to the EVT-3. Traditional lead-acid batteries are heavy, have a limited capacity, and have a very short shelf life. So, we opted to create our battery pack from NiHM batteries. This alone would have set the EVT-3 apart from every other EV on the road or in the works, but we didn't want to stop there. We wanted to create a vehicle that you didn't have to plug in all the time, basically we wanted a vehicle that you could just get in and drive. Nanoantennas came to our rescue. Our double-sided nanoantennas target mid-infrared rays and don't need visible light like traditional solar cells do. The EVT-3 also utilizes regenerative braking and does offer a plug-in option, for abnormal and emergency situations. Basically, we have created a car that will continue to collect and convert energy to constantly charge your battery pack.

We will show you how every component works during our unveiling. After our unveiling, we're going to upload our demo video, which gives you every little detail you could ask for. Also, we should have spec links up very soon.

The cost: We were going to sell the first ten cars for $24,995 and use that price point for these test units only. At this time, we're looking to give away those first ten test units. Send us a short email on why you would make a good tester (no attachments) to: roadtest@foshelectricauto.com. We will take all of the emails we receive and put them into a drawing for the ten spots. All winners will be announced during our unveiling. The price point for all units after the first ten will be around $45-55K. If you would like to lower the sales price, you can opt to get the car branded with sponsorship logos. We are signing up more companies by the day, and each company offers different plans.

28. Nanoantennas? I'd never heard of them before
Still, it's a valid theory:

I'm surprised that they have an application ready for such a new discovery.

3. New Update
Looks like they are pushing this off till next week.

Fosh Automotive is proud to introduce the EVT-3!

Most all of the information pertaining to the EVT-3 can now be found on our site. However, you won't be able to find the video or pictures of the EVT-3, yet. We had planned to bring this to you during our release, but we never anticipated the media response we would get in our initial marketing stages. We are currently in talks with two television networks, who are interested in broadcasting the unveiling of the EVT-3. With that said, no matter what happens, you will see the EVT-3 by next Monday. As a safety net, there will be a live video feed that is set to take place on 8-25-08 at 9p.m. CST. Please check the "updates" section for current information.

Not related to our televised unveiling, we are scheduling appearances on EVcast, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and The Big Idea.

13. No doubt about that.
So apparently this thing comes in at a little bit under a ton and is powered by a sub 100 lb engine which puts out near 200 horse and it does this all on electric power. 200 hp/ton is near sports car territory. With a power to weight ratio like that, it should do a quarter mile in the 13 second range. So they're basically promising a car with sports car performance (and extensive use of lightweight components found in far more expensive sports cars), that never needs fuel for 25k. I wouldn't trust these guys as far as I can throw them. I'd give maybe a .1% of this actually being legitimate.

6. 45-50k per unit?
They don't use visible light to recharge the batteries?
Isn't the largest chunk of energy reaching the Earth's surface in the visible band? That's why evolution selected that for us all to see? Or am I missing something?

10. You are missing a bit there.
Infra-red reaches the earth and goes through clouds, visible light doesn't penetrate clouds. Infrared is mostly experienced as heat and even warm objects on the earth generate infra-red. I don't know relative visible vs infrared levels from the sun, but the point is that it will still work even on cloudy days.

7. Only the first 10 people
get the car for $25,000

The rest of us will have to pay $45,000-55,000

Uh yeah, good luck with that.

9. With gas prices possibly hitting $5 by the time the car is released...
you'd save money over the life of the car, and help the environment.

Plus, this is an independent dealership. If the car ends up being legit, it will go into mass production and the price will drop.

But those NiHM battery packs are expensive. I look forward to more info on this.

hidden all over the car that convert heat to electricity. No shit, that's what they say.

17. If you are skeptical fine, but don't make crap up.
I would like to see it before I judge. I do allow for it to be BS, but also the possibility it is legit. Judging it BS without more evidence is just as bad as saying it there are UFOs because you think there are.

23. I saw that before. Nothing Other Worldly about it.
That report was from earlier this year, but reprinted (read the comment section to confirm that). It uses infra-red heat to generate power. At the time of the report they say the current output varies too much to be able to convert to DC power, but that could have been fixed by now.
