4. 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 to 1
Three presidents in one administration - Obama, Hillary, and Bill - is the Hindenburg waiting to happen.

Bill kinda burned Hillary's bridges on this score when the deal went down...and he proved himself to be totally beyond management, beyond message-discipline, and basically beyond control.

Hey, he was the president of every single one of these United States. The Big Dog can eat and shit as he pleases, as far as I'm concerned...but neither he nor the junior senator from NY should be surprised when that kind of behavior winds up costing them gigs.

Plus, Hillary on the ticket would cause the GOP base to surge their support for McCain. Right now, they're not digging him, and his trial balloons about a possible pro-choice VP pick isn't helping. But the base loathes Clinton, and will vote for the despised McCain to keep her out of power.

Short answer: Hillary for VP = never in hell x infinity +1.

Isn't she great, folks?

*clap-clap-clap...clap.......*

;)

I'm not averse to a wager on the matter, if you're game. The loser has to give a $20 donation to DU in the name of a star-deprived DUer chosen by the winner, so that DUer can evade the Google-ad nightmare that is this board in the raw.

Mmmmmm...?

17. except my point is that you really have no idea
who Obama has picked, and are at best only making a guess based on your own wishes as opposed to any actual fact.

I'm not interested in betting, so much as driving home the point that your post is mere speculation positioned as fact.

Your track record for predictions hasn't been all that great, Will.

18. Since Obama is very adverse to drama, I'd say it's a safe bet Hillary
won't be named.

19. Gotcha.
Do I need to slap some kind of label on my posts? They all kinda scream "GUESSWORK," especially since the only people who know this stuff for sure aren't me, or you, or anyone either of us know.

But that's kinda obvious and stuff. Your statement:

..."my point is that you really have no idea who Obama has picked, and are at best only making a guess based on your own wishes as opposed to any actual fact. I'm not interested in betting, so much as driving home the point that your post is mere speculation positioned as fact"...

...is basically a wordier version of "Water is wet." I wonder if the other thousand posts exactly like mine get the royal treatment from you...no, I don't wonder, actually.

As for that goop about "mere speculation positioned as fact," well, the eye of the beholder and all that, I guess. We've covered the "mere speculation" stuff already, so I leave you with the thought that "positioned as fact" could just be another way of saying my post was actually "well-argued and clearly stated," because those two traits also tend to appear in statements positioned as facts that are, like, actually facts.

I think my point here is solid because, as stated, "You're just guessing" and "Water is wet" are pretty much of equal merit and accuracy. So, if everyone else knows I'm speculating, then maybe I'm speculating and you missed a memo somewhere...must have been stapled to the one explaining how strongly-phrased speculation is still speculation, all day long and twice on Sundays.

Cheers. I'm going to go speculate as to your motives for instigating this silly waste of time. If I come up with any facts, you'll be the first to know.

20. Not so much
Your post is filled with such factoids as "Bill burnt his bridges" and "Three Presidents in the Whitehouse".

All quite inane points --but you love to spout crap like that as if it's gospel.

23. Let me know if you change your mind about that bet.
Unless you don't have "putting your money where your mouth is" checked off on your skill set.

I'm around, inane as ever.

You should go see one of those psychic/mystic/palm-reader people. I'd make a whole different bet that they'd tell you about how you were in the Alamo with a rifle and coonskin cap during a former life. I mean no disrespect in saying this; real heroes stay on the wall and keep on shooting well after the battle has already been lost.

I hope this coming winter treats you well. From the tenor of this exchange, I think you need and deserve some personal time devoted to activities other than seething and picking fights with strangers.

Just a guess.

7. Hillary put herself out of the running when she praised McCain

and herself as fit for the presidency - but left out Obama. The Republicans are already using that in an ad - think about what they would do with it if he chose her for VP.

14. Non - we need her in the Senate
to hard drive and refine the initiatives of the White House.

Plus - her addition to the ticket would give TWO reasons for "Independents" to vote against the ticket -- race and gender.

Hillary will make lasting fame via her candidacy and pivotal roles in advancing the values she cherishes in a power position.

She WILL be Senate Leader eventually and break yet another glass ceiling, paving the way once again.

it would guarantee that no one would be fool-hearty enough to try and assassinate BO. To the wingnutters the only thing worse than a blackman as president would be a shrill woman

but men are ruled by their wives, and it is why I have assumed that Obama will make the wrong decision and not pick Hillary, even though she is the intelligent choice.

You can not give odds when wives are involved.

If I believed that Obama was as cerebral as he liked to claim that he is I would say that there is 100% chance it is Hillary, because she is the obvious choice. But I do not think that he is the ultra-cool intellectual he always acts like. I think he has an emotional streak, just like Bill Clinton, and he wants a running mate who makes him feel safe and comfy. Leos are that way. They like comfort food and comfort people. That is why Bill went with Al Gore.

33. Please Please Please NO
If she's the VP pick the RW will mobilize against her and those who might have decided not to vote for McCain would vote for him just to vote against her. To the Reich Wing she's the most hated woman in politics.

Obama might as well pick Nancy Pelosi. Same result.
