3. Thanks for posting this. It gives me hope.
I remember a time when we were respected and loved in the world -- a time before Nixon, Reagan Bush Sr. and GWB. I'm just praying that somehow America can become what it once was -- a beacon for equal opportunity, human rights and democracy in the world. I realize that the beacon was never full beam. As a nation, we've never achieved our ideals, never realized all we believe in and stand for. But, still, imperfect as we were, the world had faith in our dreams. The depths to which the Bush regime has taken us -- there are no words to describe the despair I feel when I think about it.

If only the right-wingers could understand the patriotism that generates our fervor for human rights and democracy. In fact, it is the liberals/progressives in this country who do not forget the great legacy that we have inherited as Americans.

5. Well, I'd love to jump on this bandwagon, but this is a little disingenuous.
Every U.S. president is protested in every country they visit. And even the lovable "Big Dawg" wasn't immune to his fair share of protests.

Of course we all know about Greece (ouch!)

Istanbul

India

Columbia

Japan

and even Brazil (I wonder if that soccer pic was taken before or after his limousine was pelted with shit..)

So, in actuality, being protested in other countries is just something that goes along with the title of President of the United States.

6. Well given's the US' interference across the
globe that may well be true, but no US president in history has been so unanimously hated as George Bush. Given the protests in Europe, Asia, Australia and Latin America, it is hysterically funny to hear the WH spin that Chavez has organized these protests.

Latin America has been raped by US corporations for eons.
