Why is MSNBC obsessed with prison?
Edited on Tue Aug-19-08 11:58 PM by TwoSparkles
Every night on MSNBC, starting at about 9:00 p.m. central--they features shows
about prison and what life is like in prison.

Every night!

No other channel devotes three or four hours a day to these prison reality shows.

I love MSNBC during the day and I enjoy Matthews and Olbermann.

Anyone else find these hours of prison shows just a bit bizarre?

1. I don't know, but LockUp is a great show.
Although I'm not fond of their new "Convicts are enviable hardasses" advertising campaign.

2. Fillers?
They don't have to report real news? I've been wondering too. I wouldn't mind a show or two pointing out the faults in our prison system, but those shows really only appeal to voyeurism.

6. I always find it amusing...
...when the Discovery Channel has "Shark Week."

Every week is "Shark Week" on the Discovery Channel!

Oh, so instead of only 200 shows a week on sharks, you're going to have 250 and
call it "Shark Week?"

LOL!

10. I do too...
sharks are fascinating and it's cool that the Discovery Channel has
so many great shows on them.

I'm partial to the lemon and the mako, personally.

:)

16. Lemon is my new favorite.
I saw some excellent photos of them in a scuba diving magazine last week at SILs. There were around 15 of them caught in the frame - from what you could see off in the distant and up close. Beautiful creatures.

My husband has his Scuba cert, and I promised to get mine this spring... Then hopefully we'll go someplace exotic so I can see a few up close - but not too close, LOL.

7. Why are ESPN, Travel Channel, obsessed with poker tournaments?? - LOL
Actually, I like "Lock-Up"......The guy that use to host the show, John Siegenthaler was a former anchor on the weekend NBC nightly news, they should have given him the weekday gig & kicked out the overly smug Brian Williams....Williams is difficult to stomach...

18. For much the same reason...

prison is "bad", gambling is "bad"...

and both are really cheap to produce.

14. I wish...
After they convict BushCo, I'd watch every night.

...and I'd Tivo it and constantly rewind the parts where Rove sucks his thumb
and cries out for his blankey.

I love comedy reality shows.

17. Maybe MSNBC will go CNN?
CNN was always borderline. Now, they've gone off the deep end
and have become the public relations arm of the neocon agenda.

It's just so bad. It's mind blowing how blatant it is.

They have Cafferty--who is wise and often speaks out against Bush
and the rest of the thugs. However, sometimes it feels as if they
throw in one voice of reason--to throw people off and to make people
forget that the entire network is in cahoots with these Fascist
criminals.

I hope MSNBC doesn't go that way.
