The New York Yankees are dead. They are not merely tapping the bucket with their tootsies, sampling the dust with their teeth, booking refundable tickets on the Stygian Ferry. They are on Line 1 with Dr. Kevorkian asking for the soonest appointment possible, please.

Do not let Sunday arouse any feelings on the contrary. Thump the Yankees did, in their old dominant fashion, dropping 15 runs on a feeble Kansas City pitching staff. Oh well, guess those elite writers may have to figure out that there's a lot of very good baseball outside of the tri-state area. We've got two teams in first place in Chicago...baseball is anything but dead around here. And who knows...the Cubbies just may turn some heads in October. And then hell freezes over. :rofl:
