4. I just watched. Nancy did great with Brokaw, who kept hitting
her and the Dems with whatever he had.

He tried to get her to admit to a flip-flop on off-shore drilling and she gave an intelligent, "we're not flip-flopping" answer. Having failed the "gotcha", he hammered her relentlessly to no avail. She gave thoughtful, well-reasoned responses to his every angle of attack.

Having failed to "win", he closed with a churlish, unresponsive "last word"..."I think we're going to see off-shore drilling". As she began to disagree, he quickly changed the subject.

I used to kind of like Brokaw, but today he came off like a real tool and -- and a sore loser to boot.

Anyone have any more thoughts on Brokaw?...I haven't seen much discussion on him here.

Thanks.

7. Brokaw hit on something valid. She started to push natural gas and then Brokaw brought up
Pelosi's and her husband's investments in natural gas.

Also, you have to remember, Pelosi is the Speaker of the House and it is up to her if a bill about off-shore drilling comes to the floor. She doesn't have to entertain it all, just like she didn't have to entertain FISA.

8. The investment, as she explained, was part of the T. Boone Pickens
Plan and the natural gas part was quite small (at least by her income standards)..something like $100,000 to $150,000.

11. I find it unethical.

And the other poster is totally correct, she made a fool out of herself by not knowing that natural gas is a fossil fuel.

15. this explains a lot about her otherwise strange praise for
Pickens (a self-interested and slanderous snake if there ever was one). If this isn't an example of the corruptive influence of money on Washington politics, I don't know what is.
I wonder how many other Dems have financial interests in this?
Depressing, but clarifying.

10. True...but as I understand it, Barack himself is "entertaining" it.
In any case, I know a lot of people dislike Pelosi (I dislike her myself at times)..but I do believe in giving credit where credit is due. I think she did well today.

13. If Barack is entertaining it, does that mean that I have to believe it is the right thing to do?
I think not.

17. I think not as well, but I find it curious that, if that is the case,
Pelosi would be your first point of attack.

Beyond that, I don't think this one "revelation" justifies Brokaw's interview-long spewing of RNC talking points...and I think if the person being interviewed was anyone but Pelosi, that would be acknowledged.

I was interested in discussing media bias and Brokaw in particular, but since Pelosi-bashing appears to be the more favored topic, I think I'll just say "Adieu"!
