There will be nothing uplifting about the Republican Convention

They have already stated the Convention will be about attacking Obama and instilling Fear in America. They have no issues to brag about, nothing uplifting to say. Just "Fear and Smear" It will be night after night of "Be scared America" The Bogeyman is out there and only Republicans can keep you safe. 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, 2000 Americans died so be very frightened, yet 2000 Americans die every two days from tobacco related causes. No one ever talks about that...Oh and did you hear Obama doesn't look like you......

I remember seeing Pat Buchanan's infamous speech in 1992 and vowed never to watch again.

BTW, I have a feeling that Gustav is going to take center stage next week.

8. Well, when your platform is based on fear, greed, faux patriotism, guns, war, oppression

of women, and contempt for various minority groups and immigrants, it's kind of silly to expect some sort of positive vibes to emanate from their shindig. But, their constant appeal to our worse natures seems to be a winner in elections. People love having an enemy, love having their paranoias and hatreds stoked, love feeling "speshul" as an American even though we spent 8 years screwing the pooch as a nation under GWB and Crashcart, love being told that we're winning wars we should have never fought. What can ya do?
