Former Portland Trail Blazers center Kevin Duckworth has died.




The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office confirmed his death at 5:50 Tuesday morning. A dispatcher said Duckworth had died Monday. The circumstances of his death were not known at the time, but the county was preparing an official news release.

Duckworth was 44 years old.

Duckworth played for the Blazer between 1986 and 1993. He was part of the Blazers' 1990 and 1992 Western Conference Championsihp teams, and was voted most improved player in 1988, and was voted a Western Conference All-Star in 1989 and 1991.

Duckworth lived in the Portland area, where he served as an ambassador for the Trail Blazers.

According to the Newport Times, Duckswoth was at the coast helping with a free basketball clinic

for kids
