McCain adviser has solution to health care crisis...
Big-time :sarcasm:

“I have a solution. And it will cost not one thin dime,” Mr. Goodman said. “The next president of the United States should sign an executive order requiring the Census Bureau to cease and desist from describing any American – even illegal aliens – as uninsured. Instead, the bureau should categorize people according to the likely source of payment should they need care.

“So, there you have it. Voila! Problem solved.”

3. Great responses tothe article!
"So, using this idiot's accounting skills, there are no jobless people in the United States right now. Because if you're out of work, then your job is to find a job. Viola. Problem solved. Everyone in America is currently working. This tool is a prime example of what is wrong with the Republican Party. Someone from the right should take Mr. Goodman behind the woodshed and show him that his ludicrous comments on health care are not winning any votes for John McPain."

I applaud Mr. Goodman as one of the major right wing myth makers. However, this attempt is plain silly.

Yes, emergency rooms must accept people and stabilize them under EMTALA laws.( Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act )

However, that does not mean a hospital won't be sending the uninsured individual a bill!
The uninsured have no negotiated rate like an insurer so they will end up paying top price--very large medical bills. These bills aggregate from the hospital, the ambulance, and a whole array of other separately billing providers. Depending on the presenting condition this can add up to hundreds of thousands of dollars in bills.

Mr. Goodman’s ability to craft obfuscating myths must be waning. How very silly.

4. Jawdrop.
E-mail this one to everyone you know plus Keith and Rachel. It's one thing when they hide it in the legislation (or lack thereof) but this? Truth that naked needs a large audience.
