Witness Comes Forward; Affirms Fan's Version
NEW YORK (CBS) ― Some fans are coming forward to tell CBS 2 what they saw when a man was kicked out of Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night after he apparently tried to use the restroom during the playing of "God Bless America."

A Queens man is considering legal action against the Yankees after he was ejected from the contest against the Boston Red Sox.

The incident began during the patriotic 7th inning stretch at Yankee Stadium, when nature called on Bradford Campeau-Laurion. When he tried to leave his seat during the traditional singing of God Bless America, however, he says he was stopped by a NYPD officer who said he'd have to wait until the song was done.

You can't prtoest during the conventions. You can't have media ask questions of Senators and Congress people coming to and from a party thrown by Corporations. Now you can't use the Bathroom when you need too!

1. Too many clowns with power.
This cop was obviously using the color of power to enforce a rule he pulled out of his ass.

Sue them good. GBA has no official standing.

Carlin was an astute observer of life.

I miss him.

3. This is just beyond the pale.
All I'm saying is that this officer should be glad it wasn't me. I would have whipped it out right there and let it flow, public urination charge be damned.

5. They're trying to make patriotism the compulsory religion of the country.
A faux, jingoistic, imitation of true patriotism.

7. It's a 9/11 thang
At Yankee Stadium, they sing "God Bless America" at the stretch.

I doubt this is policy. More likely, it's an overzealous cop who thinks everyone should share his overwhelming sense of grief over the loss of his police comrades that day.

18. I can't stand the nationalism we display in this country now......
It really does remind me of the old Soviet Union. My son's high school football team is even putting American flags on their helmets now. And no matter what sporting event you watch, everything has to have an American Flag on it. It's really pretty sad.

testy that their "party of the Motherland" is about to go down the toilet. Hopefully for good. You're going to see many more of these situations in the coming months. I fear that after Barack is elected, your going to see a lot of pissed off, racist asshole cops hassling people. We need to stand our ground against these pricks. Do not let cops intimidate you. Remember these 4 words. "I want an attorney". Never say anything else except, "Please assault me officer, I'll own your fucking house".

16. Not nessesarily. If the local court is in cahoots with the cops, you lose.
it happens in many jusdictions. In the area where I lived in CA if you got a citation you were guilty no matter what you did or didn't do.

13. If the cop is not fired, something is wrong.
Any cop who doesn't know that the singing of God Bless America does not require all to stand or to listen needs to be fired.

15. Dude, when you have to go, you have to go.
Would he rather the guy pee in front of everyone right there, maybe even getting some on a little American flag? Let the man go to the bathroom, for crying out loud!

22. The Fascist Police State mentality at work.
All of this Pledge of Allegiance bullshit, and hand over your heart during the Star-Spangled Banner bullshit is just FASCIST BULLSHIT. It's the equivalent of making everybody ACT LIKE they are patriotic citizens when many of them don't know shit from shinola about patriotism. To me, it's just a precursor to Nazism.

I refuse to say the Pledge of Allegiance because I do not pledge allegiance to anything or anyone except the Constitution of the United States of America.

I'm a veteran who fought for this country and who loves the USA with all my heart despite the Imperial monster it is becoming. During the National Anthem I stand and face the flag, respectfully. That's it.

But I have been amazed over the years at the conduct of many Americans during the Star-Spangled Banner. They show no respect. They talk or keep walking, looking for a better seat, or order their popcorn or whatever. To me, this is a sign of disrespect. BUT, I don't think people should be punished or banned from public places because they don't show the respect I believe is due.

Forcing people to stand during God Bless America is a national abomination. Fuck that cop and the horse he rode in on. He's an authoritarian fascist. I hope they sue his ass off.

Pardon my language. This type of stuff gets me very upset.
