Should Obama congratulate McCain on his V.P. choice?
I have to admit that McCain did a classy thing last night with his congratulatory message to Senator Obama. We see far to little civility in these contests from either side. I think it would be a good idea for Senator Obama to reciprocate and congratulate Senator McCain on his choice of Governor Palin as his V.P. candidate. It is a historic moment for Republicans (Dems already did it, with Ferraro). He can then point out how the McCain/Palin ticket is still wrong for America, with sex and race being non-factors. What do you folks think?

2. yes he should
Obama should. I think most candidates do that to one another. I don't agree that sex and race are non-factors though. There are a lot of people who, unfortunately, just know Barack because he is the "black guy" without anything about his positions, and there are probably going to be people who just like the idea of Palin because she is a woman. It is really no different than those who would support McCain out of non-policy reasons because they are racist and want to support the "white guy".... it is just a fact of our politics that for better or worse (usually worse) race and sex do matter, and they will in this electon as well

3. You're right. I should have said that sex and race "should" be non-factors.
