Surprise!..."GOP convention to highlight McCain's POW story". McCain:"I don't talk about it enough."
Edited on Sun Aug-31-08 08:34 PM by Bluebear
Jill Zuckman, who broke the news of McCain's running mate yesterday and knows the GOP nominee as well as any reporter, has an convention set-up interview with him that will run in tomorrow's Chicago Tribune.

Most notably — stop reading here, Maureen Dowd and Frank Rich — McCain and an adviser suggest that St. Paul will feature much homage to McCain's POW story.

And McCain's youngest two sons, Jack and Jimmy, will appear:

McCain has also repeatedly invoked his time as a prisoner of war in response to recent questions about the number of homes he owns. But he rejected a suggestion that he is overdoing it by talking too much about his time in Hanoi.

"What I hear from everybody I know is that I don't talk about it enough," McCain said. "People keep saying to me, `Talk about it more. We need to hear your personal story, how you made a choice for your country when you refused to come home early.'

3. how does POW qualify him for anything?
If getting basically kidnapped, tortured and held against your will qualifies you for president, does that mean Patti Hearst is also qualified?

Let's see what's in there. That should be good. Might piss him off too. He certainly can't claim he doesn't like to talk about it. Ask him how many propaganda videos he made for the NVA.

I really hate to do this but, this is the web site of one of the guy that swiftboated Kerry, Ted Sampley. Interesting stuff. Go there if you dare.

I hope I don't get wacked for this.

9. Yes...talk about how he was an enemy combatant and how he endured
a few frat pranks and some enhanced interrogation techniques

He really doesn't talk about that enough

All he ever talks about is being a POW.

10. Oh jeez, who the fuck is he talking to?
He's talking about it too much according to every sane person on the planet. When you fucking overuse an excuse, it becomes an useless one. Anyone ever read the Boy Who Cried Wolf? Because that kid kept shouting wolf uselessly, by the time it was actually true, no one cared. Same deal here, by the time he actually has an occasion where being a POW is a valid justification for his actions or positions, he'll have used it so much that people will just think it's the "same old, same old." That reaction is NOT what he fucking wants when he's vying with Obama for Change or being a maverick. Ugh. Idiots.

11. McPOW fails to tell America THEY ALL DIDN"T COME EARLY
NONE of the POWs came home until it was a GROUP thingy...he thinks he was so special: My ASS he was...they ALL suffered...some more than him....many came home in a coffin or brain damaged....

He is guilty of hyping his POW experience no end...despicable.
