13. When do you think Palin will be dumped?
- No more than a week from today
- Two weeks tops
- When her corruption trial really gets underway (4 weeks?)
- 1 week before 11/4
- After the (s)election

3. Okay, I'm in.
She won't make it past the convention, if they have one. I don't think McCain will either.

Why don't you think McCain won't make it ? And who might be in his place?

17. It seems the Convention is sort of being canceled.
That strikes me as very odd. Other than that I'm stuck. I feel there are a lot of back room meetings going on with the neo-con element who are actually running the RNC. They cannot give up power, so they need to get some palatable candidates up there or figure out how to steal the election or stop it. I'm sure they won't be successful though.

31. The GOP will "figure out how to steal the election or stop it"
They already know how to do that; they've done it before.

So, my guess is they will do it again until they are caught red-handed on live TV and someone records it.

Why change a winning strategy if your opponent (democracy) has not put up a successful challenge to it?

23. I'm Sure Not Laughing, Opi
This is tragic...how low things have gotten in this country and how disdainful the GOOP has gotten, along with their corporate media toadies to peddle this shit at us and tell us it's prime rib.

This is sad that we can't focus the election on issues that matter...that the sensational gets all the grease while the plights of million who are suffering due to losing homes, jobs, healthcare or...(and no I didn't forget), that awful, ugly war for profit gets shoved into the background or ignored altogether.

It's also about the hypocrisy here...how lapel pins and black preachers and PUMAs were soooooooooooo important, but when the light is shone in the other direction, they become "outraged, I'll tell ya, outraged"...or we get the scolds who fear a water-cooler website will doom the Democratic party.

Think good things my friend...the truth has set up free.

34. When ya frame it like that...yes, we shouldn't be laughing...tis series
But on the other hand...

Humans love to laugh....even at funerals...off to the side, outside the chapel....friends gather...and they remember the good times and some times laughter....

But, them Pubs and their record of absconding with billions of dollars, the waste of lives, and the damage they did...is nothing short of TRAGIC and in my mind, CRIMINAL

When they do the perp walk...I know I be laughing then

i can't wait for the DeLay dude to wear orange....

Cheers

16. Never - Repugs do not admit mistakes
McPain will have to weather this storm of his own making.

They will keep her far far away from any individual pressers or individual town halls, even though they are stacked with Fundies.

They may have the last laugh yet, counting on the shallow, short attention span of the electorate plus various voter suppression schemes and ballot machine manipulations.

20. Now is not the time for cynicism. If you believe what you say, then
I would start canvasing, emailing, phone banking, stuffing envelopes and video-taping voting irregularities.

I think that a surprisingly large amount of the electorate this year is educating itself and becoming active. More than I have ever seen.

25. She was the pick all along
Its all about ANWR. She ran her campaign as the anti corruption candidate. All the while being controlled by BP. McCain says he is still against drilling in ANWR. If they win the election ANWR gets drilled. That is all.

26. You may h.ave a point about ANWR, but I doubt she was anything but a last minute choice.
One that is about to be deeply regretted.

There are clearly a number of scandals brewing around her, and I'm not talking about whether that kid is hers or not. Although that's probably the one the media will have a field day with.

The stuff that's coming out was so clumsily hidden. Perhaps cover-ups are easier in small town Alaska but she's in the national spotlight now. It's obvious there was little to no vetting process for picking her. And she is clearly politically naive to think her skeletons were going to stay hidden.

The brother in law was a dirty cop who most people are going to think should be fired.

If anything, they'll side with Palin for firing a guy who didn't seem to be doing his job.
