Gustav report - far eastern edge
I'm about 40 miles southeast of Mobile, 10 miles north of the beach.
I live on Wolf Bay.
We're about 200 miles from the storm center.

Since 5 a.m. we've had moderate showers as rain bands pass over.
Winds around 30 mph interspersed with periods of relative calm.
Water is almost over the dock, which is about 9' below house foundation slab.
May get some higher water later.
Tornado warnings all over the place, but no actual sightings or touchdowns reported yet.

So far it's just a rainy, blustery day.
TV shows surf up at Gulf Shores.

1. Hey Trof....
I live in Mobile and wifey and I have been commenting all morning on how lucky we may get today. Seems as though, for us, it will be just heavy rain and some semi-light wind. Stay safe down there bud.
Btw, we should get together sometime.;-)

3. Stay safe Trof....
glad that it appears that the worst case scenarios have not and likely will not occur. Praying that this continues to be the case.

8. jumped in or washed in?
I've heard tell of such stories, they call it a "jubilee" fish goes crazy and jump right out of the water.

Best hurrycane story I heard was of a treasure hunter, had a shipwrecked spot all figured out under the sand down near the cape. Storm came in, I wanna say Floyd, and washed out all the sand in that spot and the tide was lower than a bugs belly, he dodged the cops and snuck on the beach picking up spanish silver coins like they were easter eggs

Hope you and beautiful Wolf Bay luck out with this storm. And Pensacola too. My brother and his wife and my mother live there.
