1. That's why I stopped watching tv.
I got tired of seeing some dumb ass stand out in the wind and rain, who cannot be heard, who is just hoping someone sees that they are defying the 'Evil Hurricane.'

4. Hurricane Katrina MADE Anderson Cooper
Surely you can't blame these guys for hoping lightning would strike and they'd be in the midst of the disaster story of their lives.

Of course no doubt the good people of Louisiana and Missippi do not share their pain and neither does anyone else.

5. One of these days, one of those morons is going to be decapitated by a flying stopsign.
Right on live TV.

Then...maybe...just maybe, they'll all stop doing that shit.

7. make that a sleet/snow warning in Texas. You haven't seen panic until it
threatens to snow down here

this is of course directed at the reporters, not the folks who are actually living in hurricane zones, having to leave their homes......

10. How can we trust information coming from idiots who stand out in a hurricane?
Internet coverage is so much...quieter. And provides more trustworthy sources.

I grew up with Cronkite. Calm level voice, a newsguy who apologized for choking up in announcing JFK's death.

Now, nothing but 3-4 people yelling at each other, be it the so called "news" or the hysterics of weather reporting.
Even K.O. is loud.
And the Weather Channel hypes all bad weather, exaggerates it, makes every drop of rain sound like doom.

Gimme my "tubes" anytime.

12. Damn. I thought Al Roker had more smarts than that.

I just saw him being jostled around on The Weather Channel.
