1. I just saw footage on MSNBC that water has started pouring over the levees
in New Orleans. I hope Gustav keeps moving quickly to limit damage. :(

3. Yes, I think they said it was the Industrail Canal or something like that?
Not the same levees as during Katrina. If they don't fail, but only let some water flow over the top then hopefully there won't be much flooding. The good news is that Gustav is still moving at a nice clip of about 15 mph. The sooner he gets outta there, the sooner the surge ends.

5. More like splashing over but, that wall doesn't look strong enough
to hold all that water or that horizontal force.

7. Not the levees, the flood wall.
The difference is a levee is made of earth etc, and a flood wall is steel and concrete.

6. Watching the live feeds from NO on the computer.
Water is coming over the sea wall into the canal behind it.

Houston is hot and dry, we should have rain the next few days.

The east coast will be hit with the hurricane coming their way.

Nothing but fun.
