Todd Pain's 1986 DUI arrest revealed

Sources close to Sarah Palin tell The Brody File that the husband of the GOP Vice-presidential choice, Todd Palin, was arrested and charged with Driving under the Influence of alcohol back in 1986. He was 22 years old at the time. He was driving in a truck with some friends in the small southwestern Alaska town of Dillingham when he was pulled over for the DUI. As is customary, he was taken to jail briefly. Sarah and Todd Palin were high school sweethearts so they were dating at the time. The Brody File can also report that there was no accident or injuries.

Apologize for the link, but that's the only place I had seen it so far.

Anyway, not much here, but it's still hilarious to see stuff surrounding the Palins STILL come out.

EDIT: An alternate link:

3. 22 year old DUI, in the absence of current alcohol abuse,
or other evidence of ongoing issue, is meaningless to me. I have more college friends than I can count who were picked up in DUI checks more than 20 years ago... Routine road stops were common then and big money makers for college towns.

Please know that I am not in any way trying to defend drinking and driving, but there are very distinct differences between the hard core repeat offenders and those who get caught in a routine stop at the technical limit for blood alcohol and learn their (expensive) lesson.

6. It doesn't say it was a routine stop in this case

It says he was pulled over for DWI. He must have given the cope reason to believe he was drunk.

10. and how does that change the issue... 22 years ago without
evidence of ongoing alcohol abuse or repeat drinking and driving? I think heaping scorn on this one--in the absence of showing some ongoing activity-- is way off base.

8. That might help in Wisconsin rather than hurt
too damn many people here, including judges, see alcohol as a mitigating factor instead of an aggravating factor as they are supposed to.

Although, it was a long time ago without a repeat offense so while it should be known it's not evidence of anything relevant. Especially since he's not running.
