My heart goes out to Palin's daughter
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 02:01 PM by HEyHEY
Being pregnant at 17 is hard enough without it becoming a national election issue.

Poor girl. I hope she's doing okay.

1. Absolutely. She is the actual victim in this fiasco.

6. Oh, I know - it's disgraceful. Doing that to your own daughter.
And imagine if the girl wanted an abortion? Fuck. She has like NO choice. I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't want to marry the dad either.... and looks like no choice their either.

5. Agreed. Being used as a political prop by your own mother isn't something I'd wish on anyone.
Even a Republican. :)

9. What kind of mother throws her daughter under a bus like that?
I cannot imagine putting my own political aspirations (as if she even HAD such aspirations before being tapped for VP) before my family's well being.

Who the hell announces to the nation that their un-married teenage daughter is pregnant in order to "squelch" a rumor about herself? To take a "swipe" at "liberal bloggers",like Andrew Sullivan?!?!?

Why the fuck didn't this woman, when asked to join the ticket simply take a realistic look at her own current family life and realize that this is probably the LAST thing they needed on their plate at this time? Couldn't she have said - "Thanks, I'm flattered, but I cannot at this time accept?"

What a stupid, selfish bitch!

11. It's unreal
My dad quit politics... know why? Simply because my mother said she didn't get to see him enough and was lonely. Some other things are more important.

13. Agree 100%. She's just a kid.
(This Palin saga may be the weirdest shit I ever saw in my life, and I've been "out there", baby!)

Hope the daughter can hang in and come through this intact -

14. I really feel sorry for her, and I blame her mother.
Her mother should put her family first, due to the serious challenges they face right now. Both parents should be focusing on their special needs child and Bristol who will really need their support, not the spotlight of a national campaign.
