Waterbreakgate: one scenario of the last 48 hours
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 02:54 PM by wtmusic
* Saturday 8/30: as conspiracy posts on liberal blogs/boards reach a fever pitch, GOP strategists press Palin for the truth, and get it: Trig is Bristol's son.

* Sunday 8/31: GOP enters frantic damage control mode. Meetings are hastily convened, and Rove or protegé fabricates elaborate story of new Bristol pregnancy in an attempt to quell rumors.

* Keys to the strategem are:
- insisting on privacy for the young couple, casting any further investigative reporting as a violation thereof;
- a future "miscarriage", any suspicious media coverage of which will properly be deemed as inappropriate;
- an altered timeframe which would allow Sarah to claim motherhood of Trig, but not raise suspicions as to Bristol's not looking pregnant.

* Monday 9/1: Palin releases story in midst of hurricane/convention news cycle to mitigate attention it receives.

If you don't believe this is how it works, read Scott McClellan's book. These reptiles will lie like a rug if it furthers their own agenda - and believe they are being honest.

6. So it was.
I'm getting the same feeling I did in January of 2003 with the lies we were being fed about Iraq.

Something ain't right.

7. This new pregnancy may be a full-term one........
they say Bristol is five months along.......way too far along for a miscarriage.

But the baby born to Palin on 4/18/08 weighed 6.2 oz, not the weight for a preemie....he was a full term baby, which makes the "pre-birth" photos of Palin in March and early April even more suspicious.

I will not post any more about this..................our leader has suggested we stop this. I obey the Leader!

5. Thom Hartmann had an Alaskan progressive -- I think she was a talk show
host -- on his show. She said they had heard the rumors for awhile about Bristol being pregnant, but had pretty much discounted them because they felt certain McCain had vetted her thoroughly, would have uncovered it, and not chosen Palin as his running mate.

So, the Bristol is pregnant story has been making the rounds in Alaska, before the blogs started the Trig/Bristol speculation.

That being said, the whole thing is just too odd.

9. That announcement was WAY too convenient.
And if not convenient, a sleazy response to answering the rumor. Why not hospital records?

10. Someone needs to make her explain her decision to fly after her water broke.
I'd love to see the cover story for THAT.

11. Yes... which would mean that the Alaskan commenter who revealed the daughter's current pregnancy...
...was a plant, whose story was designed to buttress the imminent "revelation".

But there is the matter of the recent pictures which seem to support the story. I don't know if they are authentic or not, but the one I saw on which somebody had "brightened the shadows", looked to be more than 5 months along. Alas, I did not save the pictures (original or gamma-adjusted), nor do I recall in which of the 2000 threads they could be found.

The evidence, so far as I know, is inconclusive, but what you suggest is a scenario that should obviously have occurred to anyone who's been paying attention, and I don't just mean to "babygate".

It should also be said that should cumulative evidence come to prove the official story impossible (not merely suspect), it will have no effect on those who choose to support it out of some fear of "looking bad". That, of course, is an entirely separate issue from making the political campaign "look bad", which operates in another universe entirely.
