Have you all been watching the Repuke convention? My God, the crowds, the enthusiasm, the electrifying specifications hitting it soooo far outa the park every time! We are so fucked! We can't possibly stop that Juggernaut! The whole thing is so inspiring that I bet they tell Bush and Cheny that things are going well enough that they don't even need to show up.

You would think as a rational observer that we've got this wrapped up. Unfortunately I'm not so sure. I listen to talk radio every day at work, and I've been listening to what people have been saying in my town. Republicans believe their leaders are infallible and annointed by God himself. They see Palin as a genius pick which has energized them and given them new motivation to fight as the underdog. Make no mistake... This is not over. Republicons will defend McCain's pick to the death. She could walk out on stage tonight with a shotgun, shoot someone in the face, and tomorrow they'd be saying how that made her perfectly suited to follow in Cheney's footsteps.

It's very intimidating.
