Amy Goodman and many others arrested in St Paul
Police are arresting large groups of protesters today at different locations in St. Paul. At least twelve people were surrounded by police and detained from what looked like a sit-in at Shepard road.

As many as 50 people were arrested near East Seventh and Jackson streets since 5 p.m., including legal observers, street medics and Amy Goodman, host of the radio show 'Democracy NOW!' There was a large bus on site to haul the detainees away.

Earlier, local police and Minnesota National Guard units used a combination of pepper spray, concussion grenades and tear gas on a group of breakaway protesters gathered on Kellogg Boulevard in downtown St. Paul. The group of about 150 protesters, many thought to be with the group 'Funk the War,' had been blocking traffic for much of the afternoon.

As of 5 p.m., the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department reported 45 arrests. Four of the arrests were for felony offenses, seven were gross misdemeanors and the rest were for misdemeanors.
