Cindy Sheehan speaking today: ON FIRE!
Spent the afternoon and just left Cindy, John Bonifaz and Dan Dewalt who spoke to a raucous supportive crowd of several hundred.
I had only heard Cindy on the radio prior to this event (don't own a tv) and those times she might have been tired or who knows but she didn't impress me as a powerful speaker.
Scratch that! Today she was on fire. Powerful, direct, focused, she has honed her message and belted it out:
Impeach Now!

She seemed fired up perhaps because, as she explained, having breakfast with Reps. Jim McGovern, John Olver and Richard Neal earlier this morning and they told her impeachment was off the table because THE HOUSE LEADERSHIP WOULD NOT SUPPORT IT.

In Cindy's opinion, we have been sold out by the new house leadership who have chosen to ignore the voters main message of the '06 election: End the War, further her position and the PDA, Progressive Democrats of America, that to end the war impeachment proceedings will be necessary. John Bonifaz, a constitutional attorney, stated it was entirely plausible to impeach both the prez and the vp.

One further note, it was hinted at that Cindy might be running for congress next time around. We shall see.

1. Wonder What Obey Might Call Her?
Gee, Cindy's a passionate mother who had a son that was killed in Iraq.

She is very passionate about wanting to end the war and about impeaching the bastard that lied to us and took us to war.

She also doesn't abide fools very well.

I wonder if she qould qualify as a "liberal idiot" according to Rep. Obey??

7. Cindy mentioned Dennis Kucinich also
said the same thing. Go figure.

When we look for courage in our elected reps I guess we find it in people like Barbara Lee.

8. Kucinich too?
I don't get it. I can understand the establishment Dems refusing to entertain impeachment, but not the likes of Conyers and Kucinich. They always seem to be among the few who stand up for justice, popular or not. But if even they're standing down on impeachment, I see no hope for fixing the fundamental problems that have all but destroyed our government.

I'm very, very sad to hear this.

10. The back-story on Iraq
All supporters of Cindy and those planning for the war protest this weekend should prepare by watching this video reporting on the latest atrocities in Iraq:
