My assessment of Palin and her TV audience numbers
Forgive me if someone already mentioned this today.

Palin's speech yesterday drew over 37 million voters. Since then, Obama has raised more than $8 million and McCain...$1 million???

The money seems to say that most people who watched her were not impressed nor were they drawn to her cause. In fact, it seems to show that most were repulsed by her and want Obama to win more than ever.

Thoughts?

3. That's what I think, too.
Money talks, bullshit walks. Obama ten to one in millions of dollars over McCain or RNC (whichever of those got McCain $).

2. The same people who tuned in to get inspired by Obama,
tuned into Palin's hatefest in disbelief.

We asked, "this is our choice?"

And sent Obama $10 million to kick her ass back to the tundra.

4. I suspect that the breakdown was something like this-
Palin's Speech

20MM R's
17MM D's/I's

Obama's Speech

30MM D's/I's
8MM R's

In other words, a lot more Democrats tuned in to see this creature named Palin, than Republicans who'd be bothered to tune in to be inspired by Barack.

I wish they could break these macro #'s by Party ID...it would certainly be much more informative.

7. I agree with the idea she repulsed more people....
than she won over.

I read the most remarkable comment on a blog today about Palin's speech, which I am trying to figure out how to post.

This commenter pointed out how anyone who truly didn't know anything about Palin before last night saw a snide, abrasive woman mostly making mean remarks, many that likely went over the heads of people not tuned into RW talk radio. While she should have used her speech to introduce herself as positively as possible, Palin chose instead to preach to the most entrenched segments of the choir. I think this, as much as anything else, indicates how out of her league (and stupefied by her GOP handlers) she is.

The only people who loved Palin's speech are the ones who've already decided she is the greatest thing since sliced bread. The rest probably responded (to quote the blog commenter) more along the lines of, "...and who the f**k are you, again?"
