What were the circumstances of McCain's first marriage ?

He talks about his new marriage to a women apparntly worth over $100 million. But I haven't heard what happened to his first wife?
Does he have any children?

She was also a model and had been married once before. She married John McCain in the early '60s -- he adopted her two children and they had a third.

While he was a POW, Carol stayed loyal and was very active in trying to get him out. However, she suffered major injuries in a car crash while he was in Hanoi, and being very disfigured as a result. When McCain came home, he found she was 4 inches shorter, looked different and had gained weight. So he slept around and then abruptly left her when he met Cindy in Hawaii.

Nancy Reagan was close to Carol -- she was her assistant -- and she never much liked John for doing that to Carol.

But then again - par for the course. She kept the home fires burning for him, with their children. SHe had some type of accident and it messed up her body very badly. McCain said later "she wasn't the woman I married" (which is ironic because he came home quite a bit different, himself.) So, McCain (while married to first wife) spies heiress and beauty queen, Cindy, at a party. He was in his forties and she was only 24. Apparently he chased her around the crudite and pursued a relationship with her, while he was still married. They applied for the marriage license while he was still married, and married a few days after his divorce was final.

Yeah.. more of those republican family values we keep hearing about. He did the New Gingrich thing... so classy. No wonder he chose Palin (they have a lot in common)

While he was in Vietnam she was in a horrific accident. She sustained many injuries but the most catastrophic injuries were to her legs the were broken badly and the doctors litterally had to remove inches of bone from her legs. She was shorter and disfigured.

When Johnny came home and saw his wife (mind you the wife that waited for him) he couldn't stand to be around her. So he galavanted around and fucked around on her. Eventually, he met Cindy and her daddy! He left his wife and made a deal to pay her medical costs for the rest of her life. That is how he ended up in politics because of Cindy's daddys money.
